Fairon was born in the log cabin belonging to his great-grandfather, Michael Rumbarger.
Farion was a photographer, and had a studio at Gary, Indiana. He was a musician and played the mouth harp, banjo, guitar and violin for dances. He was an artist and painter. He drew and painted many beautiful pictures. He was also a magician and performed his magic tricks on many stages.
Farion was a lather by trade and built his own home in 1916-17 at 4009 Polk St., Gary, Indiana. His wife passed away in 1958 and he continued to live there with his son, William. On July 6, 1963, he fell and sprained his back.
He then went to live with his daughter Florence Williams in Gary, Indiana. Florence and her sisters nursed him until his death 1 October 1966. The Kleckner family was the first family in Gary, Indiana to have smallpox in 1911 and 1912. There were 12 children in the family.
