Bonnie Lou Johnston, 82, of Front Royal, Virginia, died on Monday, July 1, 2013.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Denise Bates. A reception will be held at Front Royal United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall following the service. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, VA.
Mrs. Johnston was born May 6, 1931 in Alexandria, VA, daughter of the late Wilbur Alfonso Lloyd and Mary Olive George Lloyd.
She retired as a business supervisor from Alexandria Hospital. Mrs. Johnston was a member of Front Royal United Methodist Church, and a former member of Jolly 60's, Salvation Army, Warren County Fair Association, Garden Club, and enjoyed organizing trips for seniors in her community. She was married to the late William J. Johnston, Jr.
Surviving are two sons, Gary W. Johnston and wife Kitty of Spotsylvania and Darrell G. Johnston and wife Theresa of Front Royal; one sister, Dixie Dare Marlow of Roanoke, VA; five grandchildren, Gary W. Johnston, Jr., Darren W. Johnston, Sheria A. Johnston, Blair J. Smith, and Jenna A. Johnston; three step-grandchildren, Dawn M. Decatur, Butch T. Fisher, Jr., and Christopher T. Fisher; ten great grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 7, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
