Clara Belle Clem was born 8-6-1883 in Doniphan County, Kansas. She was such a pretty little girl Grandfather Myers nicknamed her "Sugar" so everybody ended up calling her "Shug". When she was about 18 years old she went to work in Atchison for the Lute Biggs family. She married William Henry Walz,( b.6-7-1881, died 8-19-1965),and they went to Kansas City to be married 12-18-1907. They lived on the Walz family farm just one-half mile south of the Clem farm all their lives. Clara died 10-28-1965 and both are buried in Sunset Memory Garden, Atchison, Kansas. They had 5 children: Twin sons were still born 4-17-1913 (buried in the Clem area of Oakhill Cemetery, Atchison, KS); Virginia Frances (married Beryl Hundley) buried in Camp Creek Cemetery, Atchison County; Clara Margaret (married Milton Meyer) buried at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Atchison; and William Henry Walz, JR (married Elfreda Meinert) buried Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison.
