Katie Bass Turner, 86, of Greenville, wife of Coy Garland Turner, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 after many years of declining health.

Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Onie Bass.

Mrs. Turner graduated from West Gantt High School in 1944 and retired from JC Penney. She was a member of Grove Road Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Surviving, are a son, David Turner and life mate, Barbara Preston; grandchildren, Mac Turner, Tellie Stewart and Joe Rouse; great-grandchildren, Emory, Iliana and Naomi; and sister, Nina B. Finley and husband, Jack.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy T. Bigham; sister, June B. Wilson; and grandson, Ben Turner.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon St. Greenville, SC 29605 or Hospice Care of SC, 16 Mills Ave, Suite 3, Greenville, SC 29605.
