GALESBURG - Gertrude ''Trudy'' Josephine Bowman, 70, of Galesburg died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Born Feb. 11, 1930, in Cologne, Germany, to Bernhard Karl and Frieda Pauline Esser Hoegg, she married Robert E. Bowman on June 20, 1947, in Salzburg, Austria. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Roger of Galesburg; one daughter, Dr. Roxanne Guy of Melbourne, Fla; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her relatives in Germany.

She was an inspector at the former Admiral Manufacturing in Galesburg for 25 years, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of Clover Chapel Church in Woodhull.

She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary in Galesburg.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at her church. The Rev. David Lefler will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at PetersonWallin-Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull. Burial will be in Clover Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to her church memorial fund.
