Larry Smith Dodd, age 93 of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away on July 5, 2013. He was born on June 16, 1920 in Alpharetta, GA, the son of the late Ira Homer Dodd and Amie L Tucker Dodd. He graduated from the University of Georgia after serving in World War II as a medic aboard the USS Ajax.

He spent his early career as a teacher and coach at Russell High School in East Point, GA and later became principal at Russell. He also served as principal at Campbell High School in Fairburn, GA and at M. D. Collins High until his retirement.

He is survived by daughter, Jana Wynne of Arlington, Texas; son, Larry of Fayettevillel brother, Ira Carlton Dodd; sister, Carolyn Ingram; dear caregiver, Marie Knowles; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.

Graveside service held Monday, July 8 at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville, with Dr. Bob Martin officiating. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, in charge of arrangements.
