Absylar Jane Howard was born on April 8, 1817 in Edgecombe Co. N.C. to Evan Howard and his wife, Penelopy. Other children listed in a will were Edmon Howard, Benjamin A. Howard, Elizabeth Howard (married Fred Edwards and lived in Howard Co. Ark.), and Delpha Howard (married William Edwards). (Absylar and sister, Elizabeth, would live in Howard Co. Ark with their mates). Their Dad, Evan, probably died around the time his will was probated, Oct. of 1847 in N.C.--his wife was listed as "Sarah", not Penelopy. Don't know if they are the same wife, or if he had remarried. Will listed 2 sons and 3 daughters.

Absylar would grow up and marry Benjamin Franklin Dildy (Sr.)of N.C. on April 29, 1841 in N.C., the son of Lewis Thomas Dildy and wife, Nancy . Benjamin and Absylar would have 10 children of their own. Both are buried in the County Line Cemetery, Howard Co. Ark.
