Charles Edwin "Ed" Allen 85, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in healthcare facility. He was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church where he also served as an elder. He was a well-known builder in the Cleveland area and served as a past president of the Home Builders Association. He retired from the United States Post Office. He was a veteran of the United States Army.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Ruth Allen of 60 years; his parents, Eugene "Gene" and Reba Allen. He is survived by his three sons, Thomas Kiestler Allen and wife, Rose of Charleston, Charles David Allen and wife, Brenda of Lenoir City and Mark Franklin Allen and wife, Kathey of Manchester, Tenn.; one sister, Martha Wooden and husband, Tom of Cleveland; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Karyn Bogert officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial with military honors.
