Emma was born in Boston and moved to Chicago, IL I'm told that her mother went to the store one day and was never seen again, so as a child she was sent to Boston and raised by her Grand parents.

She married Edward Heiman and together had five children: Edwin, Charlotte, Henry, Sidney and Pricilla. Three were born in Chicago and two in Montana - where they homesteaded during a very difficult time.
They left Montana and moved to Missouri where Edward was born and raised
