Lorraine June (Scharff) Abbott, 56, died at 6:57 PM Sunday, Jan. 23, 1983, in St. Elizabeth Hospital. She had been ill two weeks and hospitalized since Thursday. Born and reared in New Haven, CT, she was a graduate of New Haven Business College. She lived in Peru from 1955 until 1970, and in Atlanta, GA, before moving to Lafayette in 1976. She was married in New Haven in 1945 to Raymond Abbott, who died in 1970.
Surviving are a daughter, Lorraine J. McPherson at home; a son, Raymond Kenneth Abbott of Atlanta, GA; and her parents, George and Viola Scharff of Lafayette; and six grandchildren. Service Jan. 26, Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. John Flajole officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
