William Henry Irons was born on September 21, 1889 in North Dakota, the son of Franklin Henry Irons and Martha Susan (Parrish) Irons.

At the time of the 1870 census, Frank Irons and his family are found in ____________ County, Illinois;

In the 1870's the Irons family moved to Missouri, where at least one child, May S. Irons, was born to them.
In the early 1880's the Irons family moved north to North Dakota, where at least two more children, Edward D. Irons in 1884 and William H. Irons in 1889, were born to them.
Sometime between 1889 and 1910, Franklin Henry Irons died. This could have occurred in North Dakota or in California or almost anywhere between. The family can not be found in the 1880 or 1900 census records.
By the time of the 1910 census, Frank is deceased and the Irons family is found in Los Angeles Assembly District 70, Los Angeles County, California. Martha is listed as Widowed;

Find A Grave Contributor, Calicatgal (#49557353), found the following announcement in the Thursday, April 18, 1940 edition of the Mountain Democrat;
"Services On Tuesday For Retired Lawyer From LA
Funeral services for William H Irons, 50, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the M O'Keefe mortuary chapel. Rev Harold Morehouse will have charge. Interment will be at Union cemetery.
Mr Irons died Thursday of last week while enroute to Placerville with a son in an automobile. He had been stricken suddenly ill and was being brought to Placerville for a physician's care. On arrival, he was found to have passed away and death was attributed to a heart weakness.
Mr Irons was a native of Fargo, North Dakota, and had resided in California twenty years, principally at Los Angeles where he was engaged in legal practice until incapacitated as the result of an auto accident in recent years.
He came to this county last September and lived in the FairPlay district.
In addition to his wife, Clarice Irons, who resides in Fresno, Mr Irons is survived by a daughter and three sons, Mrs Geraldine Nelson, William Jr, Edward and Jack, all of this city.
He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers in Los Angeles, who are Mrs Stellla Van Nawkirk, Mrs Mae Hansen, and Robert and Edward D Irons."
