Gwendolyn's obituary has provided a brief glimpse into her life.
"Gwendolyn June Cox, age 87, of Fortuna, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover. She was born April 20, 1930, in Syracuse, Missouri, a daughter of the late Cleo 'Bill' and Mary (Birch) Mullins.
She was united in marriage to Lester Robert Haldiman who preceded her in death in March of 1980. Later, she married Robert Cox and he preceded her in death.
Gwen worked for Dr. Stonner in Tipton as a dental assistant for thirty-eight years. Later, she was employed at Walmart in Versailles for sixteen years until her retirement at the age of 84.
She was a member of the Tipton Country Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting.
She is survived by her son, Darrel Haldiman and wife Dorothy of Fortuna, Missouri; her daughter, Barbara Baldwin and husband Danny of Hoover, Alabama; step-son, Chris Cox of Smithton, Missouri; step-daughters, Tina Gunn and Rina Freeman both of Camdenton, Missouri; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, James 'Jim' Haldiman, step-son, Steve Cox, brother, Ronald Mullins and sister, Barbara Kasper.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, October 6th, at the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Friday, at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles."
