A. Francis McCaw, 81, of James St., Syracuse, died November 25, 2001 at James Square Health & Rehabilitation Centre. Born in Syracuse, he had lived on Woods Avenue South in Syracuse. He retired in 1983 after 40 years as an engineer and conductor for Amtrak. He was founder of Syracuse Chapter of Pearl Harbor Survivor's Association and a member of Army Navy Union. He was a past commander of Onondaga County Veterans Council and was a member of Brotherwood of Railroad Trainmen. He was an Army Veteran of WWII.
He wife, Mary Jane died in 2000. Surviving are a daughter, Roseanne Krom of Syracuse; a son, David of Baldwinsville; and 4 grandchildren. Services were held in James Street United Methodist Church, 3027 James Street, Syracuse. Burial was in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. There were no calling hours. Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, Syracuse had arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse 13204.
