LEAVENWORTH--Sister Ann Loretta Carney, 84, Leavenworth, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1995, at the the Sisters of Charity Mother House in Leavenworth.
Sister Carney was a former school teacher. She had taught at Our Lady of Guadalupe School, Hayden High School and St. Vincent home, all in Topeka and Holy Cross School at Emmett. She also had taught in Colorado, Montana, Oklahoma, Missouri and Nebraska. She had served at hospitals in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and California.
She was born April 20, 2011, at San Francisco, the daughter of Patrick and Mary McDonald Carney. She graduated from Loretto Heights Academy and High School at Denver. She entered the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth on Aug. 15, 1931, and made her profession of vows on Feb. 16, 1933. She earned a bachelor's degree in education at St. Mary College in Leavenworth. She retired to the Mother House in 1986 and to Ross Hall at the house in 1994.
Survivors include a brother, Frank Carney, Shell Beach, Calif.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at Ross Chapel and burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
