BIRTH DATE DISCREPANCY: The Social Security Index and the military have the wrong date stating 1929, when it was 1931. I can substantiate this by records from The Tipton Orphan Home records dated June 23, 1934 which I have in my possession. Another factor is his next oldest sister, Catherine Sedelle Oldham Schrader was born Nov 14, 1929. As you can see from the photo of them together, she is clearly at least two years older. I suspected he lied about his age to get into the military as so many did.
ADOPTIVE PARENTS:
Amos was adopted at age 3-1/2 after August 18, 1934, upon leaving the Tipton Home with Rev. Ira Lee Sanders Apr 1885 Hichman Co, Tn - 21 Mar 1966 Nannie Roberta Hickman Sanders 1892-1970. The 1930 US Census states they lived in Eldorado, Jackson, Oklahoma.
