Edward Lester "Ned" Foster, 82, of Modesto, Calif., died Sun., Jan. 14, 1996, at his home. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Sutter Creek. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson.
Mr. Foster was born Dec. 25, 1913, and was a native of California. He had lived in Modesto for six years. He was a grocer and owned the Red and White grocery store in Jamestown, Calif., for 20 years. He was a member of the Sonora Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Marie (Schwartz) Foster of Modesto; children, Bruce Foster of Modesto and Bradford Foster of Atherton, Calif.; brother, Leo Foster of Los Banos, Calif.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
