KRIEG Helen C. Krieg, 92, of Rich Fountain, Mo., passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008, at the Westphalia Retirement Center. She was born June 21, 1916, in Linn to the late Bernard and Anna (Luecke) Brandt. She attended school in Linn. On April 9, 1940, Helen was united in marriage to Alphonse Krieg in Linn. He preceded her in death September 24, 1981. Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed her fruit trees, flowers, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren, especially the babies. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Rich Fountain, the Western Catholic Union, St. Ann's Sodality and the Sewing Circle. Survivors include: three sons, Fred Krieg and his wife Dina of Westphalia, Bob Krieg and his wife Judy of House Springs, Mo., and John Krieg and his wife Donna of Wentzville, Mo.; two daughters, Mildred Mebruer and her husband Clarence of Rich Fountain and Judy Scheulen and her husband Bob of Linn; 26 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Clem, Ed and Tony Brandt and a daughter-in-law, Rita Krieg. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at the Sacred Heart Church in Rich Fountain with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Bill Peckman as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Masses or expressions of sympathy to the Sacred Heart Parrish would be appreciated.
