Mrs. Jennie Lyon, wife of Counselor DeWitt H. Lyon, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Greenwood, of Mortimer street, died Friday afternoon, following a surgical operation in the Woman's Hospital in New York City. The death of Mrs. Lyon is a peculiarly sad one. She had been married but a few years when she was forced to accept the alternative which ended so fatally. Prior to the illness which ended so sadly, Mrs. Lyon was one of the most earnest and consistent of workers in St. Peter's Church. She was actively connected with the energetic ladies of the Faithful Workers and one of the best loved of the teachers of the Sunday-school. The little ones in her class fairly idolized their teacher whose disposition was all that the Master could give his children. The funeral services were held from the house on Monday afternoon, the number of beautiful floral pieces being very large. Interment was at Sound Beach.
