Gary was born in Monroe County on June 13, 1952, a son of the late Lucille (Burks) and Orville "Bulley" Clarkson. Gary graduated from Monroe County High School in 1970, and on March 24, 1975 he married Rebecca "Becky" Rhoton who survives him.
Gary was retired from the KY State Highway Department after 28 years and was an active farmer in Mud Lick.
Gary is survived by
a daughter, Casey, wife of Patrick Collins, of Tompkinsville;
a son,Cary, husband of Lindsey Clarkson, of Tompkinsville KY;
four grandsons, Caden Clarkson, Weston Collins, Lane Collins and Cohen Clarkson.
Gary is also survived by
a sister, Rosemary Wooten, of Maryville TN.
two brothers, Bobby Clarkson, of Tompkinsville; Harold Clarkson, of Glasgow;
Gary was also preceeded in death by one brother, Rondal Clarkson, and two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Clarkson and Gayle Clarkson.
Funeral services will be conducted at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville KY, at 1:00 P. M. on Friday, July 5th, with Jim Finley Jr. officiating.
Visitation, Thursday 2:00-9:00 P. M.. and Friday 6:00 A.M. - 1:00 P. M. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. .
