John W. Achten, age 61, of 11534 Lakeshore Road, Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, September 20, 1995, at the Two Rivers Community Hospital.
He was born January 16, 1934, in Aniwa, Wis., son of the late Jacob and Eva Hibbard Achten. John joined the United States Marine Corp. on January 4, 1954, and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on January 4, 1957. He was
employed at Schwartz Mfg. Company, as a machine operator.

Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law, Dale and Kathy Achten, California, Doug Achten, Two Rivers, Jeff Achter, Two Rivers; four daughters, Joyce, Chicago, Ill., Michele, Minneapolis, Minn., Susan, McHenry, Ill., Bonnie, Manitowoc; grandchildren include Amanda and Caitlin Brotski, Gina Harsevoort, Selena and Jenny Sturgeon; brothers and sisters, Al and Dorothy Achten, Jim and Laura Achten, Edith Novoselotz, Bob and Hazel Achten, Norb and Helen Achten, Margarite and Willie DeVos, Jacob and Barb Achten, Lou and Dick Baeten, Mary and Merle Derpinghaus, Bernie and Mary Achten. Other nieces, nephews, relatives
and many friends also survive.

Friends may call at Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, after 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 1995. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 6 p.m.
