Lynda Gray, 66, Canada, Dies
Funeral Set in Wayne City
Lynda H. Weber Gray, 66, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, died October 5, 2012 at St. Bonaface Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
She retired in 2003 as an instructor and department head at Red River Community College in Manitoba.
Funeral Saturday
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wayne City, where Lynda and Jerry were married. Visitation is Friday evening 6 – 8 p.m. at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be at Pin Oak Cemetery in Wayne County, a short distance from the Weber family farm.
Lynda was born November 7, 1945 to Clarence and Marjorie Weber of Sims. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1968 and her master’s degree in business education in 1970 from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Lynda and Jerry were married in 1970 and moved to Winnipeg where Jerry had accepted a job.
Lynda had a passion for genealogy and the history of the Weber and Gray families.
Survivors
Survivors include her husband Jerry; a son, Derek of Beaverton, Ore.; brothers, Harold (Phyllis), Sam (Lorene), Lloyd (Kay), Stanley; and sisters, Fay (Bob) Gaither, Wilberta Gregory, Joyce (Jack) Snidle, Barbara (Dan) Evans).
She was preceded in death by death by her parents, and brothers Glenn and Carl Weber.
