Sarah was a daughter of John Norman (1815-????) and Ann Redmon (815-1911). The family emigrated to Canada from England in 1848.

She married William Henry Joyce Jr. around 1868 or 1869.

Sarah was the Mother of 5 children;
1. Alice Elizabeth Joyce 1869-1923.
2. John Norman Joyce 1873-1951.
3. William Henry Joyce III. 1876-1948.
4. Herbert Charles Joyce 1878-1952.
5. Edith Caroline Joyce (Kee) 1882-1966.
