Mrs. Chambers was born on July 11, 1920 to the late Clarence & Thelma Stringer Grissom. She passed away on Tuesday, July 02, 2013 at Hanceville Nursing & Rehab. Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, John A. Chambers; one sister, Willodean Aldridge and two brothers, Hubert Grissom and Orval Grissom.
Pauline was born in Franklin County, and moved at a young age to Cullman. She graduated Cullman High School in 1939 and that same year was married to John A. Chambers.
She was the Executive Secretary at the downtown branch (Birmingham) of Sears over 40 years. After her retirement, she was very active in the Sears Retiree Association and the E.W.I. (Executive Woman's International Association) in Birmingham.
Mrs. Chambers is survived by a sister-in-law, Gracie Grissom; three nieces, Jenny Folsom, Judy (Gerald) Shew and Ginger Grissom; two nephews, Hubert Grissom, Jr. and Mark (Jeri) Grissom; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special family, Terry (Walter) Hunter and their daughter Kayla.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 12 p.m. until the service time at 1 p.m.
