James Y. Hall
James Yancey Hall, 91, Pinson Star Rt., died Saturday at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Vina N. Skaggs of Birmingham and Mrs. Bessie Morrow of Pinson; three sons, the Rev. Sam Hall of Tarrant City, Tom L. Hall of Thermal and John D. Hall of Birmingham; a sister, Mrs. Mary Thomas of Fultondale, and a brother, Tom Hall of Morris.
Mr. Hall was born in the Hopewell community of Jefferson County and lived all his life in this area. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Hall was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He had been chairman of the board of deacons for more than 20 years. He was superintendent of the Sunday school 15 years. He was a member of the Improved Order of the Red Men and was a member of its initiation degree team for a number of years.
