Mrs. Myrtle Theriault, 76, long time resident of Pennington, died Friday after an extended illness.

Born in Wisconsin in 1890, Mrs. Theriault came to Cass Lake with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McGaurn as a young girl where they homesteaded in the Pennington area. She was married to Fred Theriault at Cass Lake in 1911 and they operated the first store at Pennington and Mrs. Theriault served as post mistress for many years. The Theriaults also started the Fishy Waters Camp. Mr. Theriault died in June, 19664 and a son, Marshall, preceded her in death in 1932.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Elton and Clarence McGaurn, Mrs. Richard Olson and Mrs. Floyd Johnson, all of Bemidji.

Funeral services will be held at St. Philip's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery. (March 19, 1966)
