Charles Deewitt Anderson, 75, of 334 Leggett, died Monday afternoon in Albuquerque, N.M. He had been visiting relatives there since Friday.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Elliott's Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Richard Payne, pastor of Elmwood West Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery under direction of Elliott's Funeral Home.
Mr. Anderson was born Feb. 5, 1896, in Rising Star, and had been a veteran of World War I.
He married Elva Thomas in El Paso in 1948, and moved to Abilene from San Antonio in 1952. He and his wife had lived here since.
He was employed by the Internal Revenue Service for 25 years, and retired in 1965.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Michael Dodson of the 600 block of Westwood, Apt. B-4; one sister, Mrs. Edwina Williams of Odessa; and four brothers, George Anderson of Albuquerque, N.M., Tom Anderson of Carlsbad, N.M., Wallace Anderson of Brownwood and F. R. Anderson, also of Brownwood.
