Trudy was born in Rock Island on February 18, 1947, a daughter of Charles and Helen Plunkett Mack. She graduated from Winola High School, Viola, in 1965. Trudy married James Hughes on October 14, 1967 in Viola.
In 1974 Trudy co-founded Hughes Tire & Brake in Milan and East Moline with her husband. She retired in 2004 after 30 years as a bookkeeper.
Trudy was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She loved working with her flowers, traveling with her husband and most of all spending time with her family.
Survivors include; her husband, James Hughes, Milan; sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck (Michelle) Hughes, Bettendorf and Scott (Lori) Hughes, Davenport; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Madison Hughes; grandson, Connor Hughes; step grandsons, Connor and Kellen Hornbuckle; sister, Shirley Dellitt, Aledo; nephews, Steven, Edward and Brian Dellitt, all of Aledo; and niece, Susan Miller, Coyne Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Cheryl and nephew, Danny Dellitt.
