WATERBURY — Kevin M. Robert, 29, of Framingham Drive, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 28, 2013, at his home.
Kevin was born in Waterbury, May 15, 1984. He was the son of Michael Robert of Wolcott and Lorie (Spooner) Bates of Winsted. Kevin was raised in Oakville and enjoyed much time with his grandparents in Wolcott and in Thomaston.
He graduated from Watertown High School in 2003 and from Porter and Chester Institute. He was an aspiring electrician and worked a variety of jobs in the local area as well as home improvement and remodeling with his Uncle Ken.
Kevin enjoyed hiking, fishing, snowmobiling with his Dad, and spending time with his family. He was outgoing and friendly and had a kind and generous heart. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he leaves a stepfather, David Bates of Stafford Springs; a stepmother, Michele Webster of Wolcott; a brother, Ryan Robert of Wolcott; three sisters, Kelli Cyr and her husband, Jason, of Manchester, Stephanie Bates of Middletown, and Lauren Robert of Wolcott; his paternal grandparents, Normand and Aline Robert of Daytona Beach, Fla.; his maternal grandmother, Ida Spooner of Thomaston; his aunts and uncles, Ken Spooner of Thomaston, Bob and Doris Brody of Richmond, Va., Marc and Ger Robert of Mashpee, Mass., Steve and Lise Bowman of Brookfield; and a cousin, Cassidy Robert of Mashpee, Mass. Kevin was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Kenneth Spooner Sr. of Thomaston.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on July 9 at the Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of service. Burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery is private and at the convenience of the family.
