Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, September 13, 2004 at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 87 S. Main St., Mt. Wolf. Burial will be in Mummerts Meeting House Cemetery in East Berlin. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Officiating at the service will be her pastor Jeffrey Wilt from Community U.M. Church in Saginaw. Mrs. Altland was born April 8, 1916, in York.
She was the daughter of the late Anthony F. and Daisy A. (Schrover) Shultz.
She worked for Doubleday in Hanover for over 10 years before retiring in 1979. She also worked for Penn Wood Heel for over 22 years. She was a member of A.A.R.P. in Dover; and the Senior Citizens of East Berlin. She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Saginaw.
Mrs. Altland is survived by one daughter, Mary E. Brenner of Saginaw; one sister, Francis E. Sipe of York; and several nieces and nephews.
