Sally D. Jensen, 64, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at her condominium in Omaha.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair. A luncheon, hosted by her brother and niece, will follow the service.

Sally D. Jensen was born Feb. 5, 1942, at the Blair Hospital to prominent lifetime farmers Alton and Eleanor Jensen. She enjoyed a pleasant early farm life in the Pleasant View bench community located three miles south of Herman, and graduated from Blair High School in 1959. She then graduated from Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., and then attended Clarkson College of Nursing in Omaha.

She was a lifetime member of the Herman Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was devoted to the Joslyn Memorial, the Omaha Symphony, psychiatric study, and all things "Nebraska." Her family notes, "There was no greater fan of the Big Red storming down the field on Saturday afternoon than Sally." She was loyal to, and loved by, her community and family.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Larry D. and Noriko Jensen of San Mateo, Calif., and Tokyo, Japan; two nephews, a niece, two grandnieces and a grandnephew, all of the San Francisco Bay area; along with numerous local cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials are suggested to the Good Shepherd Home, Eastern Star, or Herman Community Church.



JENSEN - - Sally D. passed away at her condominium in Omaha on January 8, 2007. Age 64, she was born February 5, 1942 at the Blair Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents, Alton and Eleanor Jensen. Sally is survived by her brother, Larry D. Jensen and his wife Noriko of San Mateo, CA and Tokyo, Japan. Also surviving are her nephews Dirk, his wife Dawn, and Nels Jensen; niece Brooke Jensen, grandnieces Bailey and Claire Jensen, grandnephew Cole Jensen, all of the San Francisco Bay area. Numerous cousins are also Sally's survivors.

A local memorial service for Sally will be announced in late March or early April.
