Funeral services for James H. Blevins, 94, who died Saturday, July 20 were held Monday July 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chaffin Funeral Home with the Rev. Mahaney officiating. Burial was in the Selmore Cemetery. He was born March 12. 1863 in Independence County, Ark. and was the son of James and Rosie Blevins. He came to Missouri when he was young and spent the rest of his life in Christian County. In 1886, he was united in marriage to Lucinda Wheeler and to this union two children were born. His wife and two children preceded him in death. He was later united in marriage to Mrs. Nannie Nix, who also preceded him in death. Mr. Blevins had been a member of the Selmore Christian Church for more than 45 years. Survivors include five sons, Lon, Henry and Claud of Ozark, Fred of Nixa and Radford of California; four daughters, Mrs. Emma Glenn and Mrs. Gertrude Melton of Ozark, Mrs. Mearl Hayworth of Nixa and Mrs. Loren Harp of Nixa; 50 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren' eight great, great grandchildren; three step-daughters, Mrs. Erma Young of Nixa, Mrs. Ruby Young of Springfield, and Mrs.. Amy Berry of Wyo.

2nd married Nancy Jane "Nannie" Thomas 4 Sep 1915 (who was first married to Samuel B. Nix, James Blevins was her 2nd Husband)
