He was born in Surry County, N.C., on June 24, 1945 and was a son of Leva Wall Bowman of Ararat, N.C., and the late Floyd Wheeler Bowman.
He was a carpenter and was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Barbara Willard Bowman of the home; one daughter, Catherine Hooker of the home; and three sisters, Shirley Willard of Ararat, N.C., Frankie Willard of Mount Airy, N.C., and Debbie Tolbert of Ararat, N.C.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, at Unity Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Buford Jessup. Burial was in the Rock Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
Arrangements were by Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, N.C. (Stuart Enterprise (VA) ~ January 7, 2004)
