Ella Gingerich Weaver Maupin, 83 years old, passed away at Embracing Hospice on April 17, 2007. Mrs. Maupin was born in Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Lando Gingerich and Verna Hershberger Gingerich. She was the third of nine children and was predeceased by brothers Roman, Marvin and Eli Gingerich and sister Viola Yoder.
Ella was married to Vernon David Weaver of Kinross, Iowa in 1946. They had two children, Kristen Kay and Ken Hershey Weaver. Vernon passed away in 1956. After his death, Ella obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. In 1969 she married Wyatt E. Maupin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
In 1974 they moved to Springfield Illinois. After Wyatt's death in 1981, Ella moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia in 1983 to be near her children. She was a member of Stone Mountain First United Methodist Church. She was active in her church, neighborhood, and the community.
Ella is survived by her daughter Kristen Weaver Farris (Paul) of Stone Mountain, Georgia; son, Ken Hershey Weaver (Patricia) of Snellville, Georgia; grandchildren, David Alexander Farris (Amanda) of Dallas, Georgia; Ashley Michelle Weaver of Athens, Georgia; great-grandsons, Lukas Alexander and Nicholas Andrew Farris of Dallas, Georgia; brothers, Lando Gingerich, Jr. (Gladys) of Morris, Illinois and Richard Gingerich (Rose) of Greentop, Missouri; sisters, Mary Kinsinger (Vernon) of Kalona, Iowa and Jeanette Hotz of Muskego, Wisconsin.
