Floyd "Bill" Brooks, Sr., 83, was a son of the late Barnett B. and Almeada Sprinkle Brooks. He was a member of Gospel Light Holiness Church, Gastonia. Mr. Brooks was retired from the US Army, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retirement he was a member of the 31st. Infantry Regiment Association and The WWII Last Man Club.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Barbara Bradley Brooks; daughter, Rhonda Kay Holland; grandson, Joseph Michael Brooks; brother, Roland Brooks; sister, Margaret Pruitt.
Interment in Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia with full military honors.
