"Funeral services of the late Mrs. Blanche B. Berkley took place this afternoon at five o'clock from St. Paul's Church, the Rev. P. P. Phillips, the rector, officiating. The pallbearers were Dr. A. Snowden, S. H. Lunt, George H. Evans, Kenneth W. Ogden, Urban S. Lambert, and Philip Heisley. Interment was in the Methodist Protestant Cemetery."

The Washington Post, 29 Jul 1911, p 3, lists her as a "daughter of the late Washington Bodkin" and a member of the choir at St. Paul's.
The 1850 census shows a Blanch F Bodkin, age 1, as the apparent child of a merchant named Washington Bodkins, 36, and Catharine Bodkins, 30, in Alexandria. Other adults and children are listed in this household. The Washington Bodkin family is also listed in the 1850 Slave Schedule as having four enslaved persons, ranging in age from 8 to 60.
