Charles Edward Waldrop, 72, of 108 Woodville Ave., died Dec. 2, 1995, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center following a period of declining health.

He owned and operated Waldrop Construction Co. before he retired .. and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of Cedar Lane Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Nicholson Waldrop; three daughters Dianne W. Alexander of Greenville, Pamela W. Gibbs of Tryon, N.C., and Theresa W. Bird of Surfside Beach; a son, Ray V. Waldrop of Easley; three sisters, Betty W. Bridges and Ruth W. Rivers both of Greenville, and Doris W. Brown of Marietta; three brothers, Harold Waldrop, Arthur Waldrop and Gary R. Waldrop, all of Marietta; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Guy Edward Waldrop; and three brothers Mendle L. Waldrop, Burton C. Waldrop and Billy E. Waldrop.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, with burial in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery Travelers Rest.

Visitation: 6 to7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
