William was born say 1745, the son of Benjamin Hart and Hannah Cook of Trenton Twp., old Hunterdon Co., NJ (now Ewing Twp., Mercer Co.). He died in Lawrence Twp., old Hunterdon (now Mercer) Co., before 29 Dec. 1818, when his estate was inventoried. He was probably a farmer or cooper.

In addition to the three children linked below, William and Hannah had two children that were unmarried at the time of William's will (written in 1813): William Jr. and Elizabeth. Their brother Israel, who was executor of the will, was to provide for both of them. William Jr. may have been disabled in some way since William Sr. instructed Israel to provide a home for William Jr. when he could not work.

Gravesite Details

William and his wife might be buried here with daughter Jemima Pierson, since he resided in Lawrence Twp. at the time of death. However, no record of a gravestone has been found. The Ewing Presbyterian Cemetery is another possibility.
