Hymn Writer. He was the composer of some of the most beloved hymns of the church. His first published book of songs was "Songs of Victory" in 1937. "The Nail-Scarred Hand", "Have Faith in God", "Satisfied With Jesus", "God Give Us Christian Homes", "Wherever He Leads I'll Go", and "Glorious Is Thy Name" are just a few of the songs written by McKinney and appear in hymnals the world over. McKinney was also the editor of "The Broadman Hymnal", which was first published in 1952.
