Edgar Vernon Adkins, 77, of Fort Gay, died Sunday in an Ashland Hospital. Funeral services were conducted at 2p.m. Tuesday from the Fort Gay Missionary Baptist Church with Rev Paul Hutchinson officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery at Fort Gay. Born December 10. 1892, he was a son of the late William and Jean Welch Adkins. He was a retired miner and wmployee of the Norfolk and Western Railway Co. Survivors include the widow, Mrs Ivy Sue Adkins, two daughters, Mrs Ruth Marcum and Mrs Jean Rutherford of Fort Gay; Two sons, Jack Adkins of Fort Gayand Don Adkins of Mansfield, OH; and 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Arrangements were under ther direction of the Young's Funeral Home.
