This Good Woman Passed Away Yesterday Afternoon
Mrs. M.L. Foy died yesterday evening about seven o'clock. She had been ill for more than a year and passing away for a month or more.
About her were gathered six devoted and stalwart sons and her daughter, Mrs. J.L. Pitts. The good woman had the consolation that daily about her bedside during her illness she could feel the devotion of her seven living children, children in-law, and innumerable grandchildren.
Mrs. Foy was something over sixty years of age and spent, The Times thinks, all of her life in Barbour county, living at Batesville where her children were born, then moving here some twenty-five years ago. Mrs. Foy lost her husband, Mr. Wm. H. Foy, about twenty years ago.
She was a strong character and she drew close to her children, and her wishes were always law to them, and her friends. She was a lovable woman, with a beautiful character and was a citizen that the town will sadly miss.
The services were held at the house this morning at eleven o'clock. Rev. Dr. Wade conducted them, assisted by Rev. Mr. Frazer. The interment was in Fairview and attendance for the services was very large.
