Keith was born April 7, 1943, in his grandparents' home at Nenzel, Neb., to Gladys Josephine and Clarence Keith Whipple Sr.
Keith was born to be a cowboy, riding horses, participating in rodeo, working cattle, taking care of the land. He spent his younger years in the Glad Valley/Isabel area. He won past championships in the SDRA, NCRA and USTRC.
Keith started a ranch near St. Francis with a small herd of cattle and a A-1 breeding program that has lasted 40 years. He was a good land resource manager.
His work ethics, knowledge of cattle, horses and how to throw a good loop are evident in his children.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Leslie; two sons, Josh Whipple, Kilgore, Neb., and Clint Whipple, St. Francis; three daughters, Kristy (Sid) Mignery, Kearney, Neb., Kelly Whipple, Eden Prairie, Minn., and Jackie Whipple, Norfolk, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Beulah (Wayne) Pfleger, Rapid City, and Harriet (Lowell) Hurd, Lumberton, Miss.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
