JOLO, W.Va.-Hubert Edwin Fain, 77 years of age, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Buchanan General Hospital, Grundy.
Born in McDowell County, W.Va., March 16, 1924, he was the son of the late Pleasant Fain and Virgie Whittaker Fain. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Bradshaw American Legion Post 175 and VFW Post of Iaeger, W.Va., and a member of the Crossview Church of Christ. He was retired manager of Ben Franklin Dime Store in Bradshaw and a lifelong resident of West Virginia. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Fain and Clara Marie Morgan and three brothers, Hartley Fain, Leslie Fain and Raymond Fain. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Daisy Ann Hagerman Fain of Jolo; one daughter, Rebecca Shannon of Arizona City, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Crigger and Robin Graham, both of Jolo one son, Roger Fain of Iaeger; one stepson, Jimmy Long of Brookpark, Ohio; one sister, Betty Fain Mullins of Bristol, Va.; three grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the Crossview Chu!
rch of Christ on Stateline Ridge No. 1 in Paynesville, W.Va., with Evangelist Hobert Kennedy and Reverend Darrell Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Tom Sparks Cemetery at Paynesville. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be E.C. Sparks and Don Morgan. The body will be taken to the Crossview Church of Christ Thursday evening at 6 p.m., where friends may call with services held at 7 p.m. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by American Legion Post 175 and VFW Post of Iaeger. The family of Hubert Edwin Fain is being served by Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home of Grundy.
