Marjorie Deardorff, 89, daughter of Roy and Bernice (Elvidge) Jensen, was born February 11, 1921 in Lone Rock, Iowa. She passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Lakeside Village, Panora, Iowa.

She graduated from Lone Rock High School. She then went to Grinnell College for two years. On July 4, 1943, she married Orville G. Deardorff in Lone Rock, Iowa. They made their home on the family farm near Yale. Marjorie received her degree from Drake University in 1972. She taught school in Bagley, Boxholm, Yale, and Yale-Jamaica- Bagley until her retirement in 1976. They then made their home at Lake Panorama in 1986. In 2007, she became a resident of Evergreen Ridge in Jefferson until July of 2009, when she moved to the Lakeside Village, Panora

She enjoyed collecting various items, such as dishes and antiques. She also enjoyed knitting, puzzles, and was a lover of nature.

She was a member of the Yale United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Yale Women's Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary for 82 years.

Marjorie is survived by her sons; David (Sheila) Deardorff of Yale and Richard (Carol) Deardorff of Cairo, Nebraska. Daughter; Laura (Verlin) Summy of Yale. Five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Brothers; Roger Jensen of Fairmont, MN and Jamey Jensen of Lone Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Orville in 2000.
