Karma Thorley Forbes
(March 30, 1929 - June 28, 2013)

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Karma Thorley Stucki Forbes, 84, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at North Canyon Care Center in Bountiful, UT surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 30, 1929 in Cedar City, UT, the daughter of Samuel Benjamin and Ann Stewart Thorley Stucki.

Karma married Dee R. Forbes on November 19, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Karma attended school in Cedar City, Brigham City and Kaysville, UT. She graduated from Davis High School in 1947. Karma worked at B&B Department Store and at Lagoon in the spring for many years. She also sold Avon and worked 20 years for the United States Postal Service at the Kaysville, UT Post Office. She was a dedicated wife and mother.

Karma worked on the family farm, driving the tractor and farm truck. She canned fruits and vegetables to feed her family, quite an adjustment for a city girl.

Karma was active in the LDS Church. She served in the Relief Society, Young Women and Primary organizations. With her husband she was an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Surviving are her children: DeAnn Forbes, Blanding, UT; June (Sidney) Hurst, Las Vegas, NV; Paula (Robert) Hussey, San Jose, CA; Joyce (Stanley) Brown, Layton, UT; John (Annamarie) Forbes, West Jordan UT; Richard (Debbie) Forbes, Heber City, UT; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Also surviving is her brother Richard Stucki.

Preceded in death by her husband, Dee R. Forbes, her parents and two sisters, Maurine Grimshaw and Ferrol Aldrich.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield Stake Center, 935 South State Street.

Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, July 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
