The entire community was grieved when the news of the sudden death of Mrs Clark Duncan was announced on Thursday morning. The deceased was 27 years old and was the youngest daughter of Mr. & Mrs John Sheehy of our village. Death is at all times a hard blow, but in this case especially so. Less than a year ago Mr. & Mrs Duncan lost a beautiful little thirteen months old, stricken down in perfect health, only living a few hours. The bereaved parents were heartbroken and just as they were beginning to recover from the shock, death stepped in, taking a young mother who a little girl four years old, a husband, a father & mother, and two sisters to mourn her loss. Mrs Duncan went to bed on Monday night apparently in her usual health. Early Tuesday she was taken sick with acute Brights Disease and after a consultation of local physicians, was rushed to St Francis hospital in Po'keepsie, where every effort was made by the entire staff to save her life. She died at 12:15 on Thursday morning. The remains were brought to the home of her parents where she had lived since her marriage. The funeral will take place from her home on Saturday morning, and from St Joseph's church where a mass of requiem will be celebrated by the pastor.

The funeral of Mrs Clark Duncan on last Saturday morning was the largest seen in our village in a long time. Almost the entire community was present to pay their last respects to the deceased and to extend to the bereaved husband and his little children and members of the family their sincere sympathy. The members of the Knights of Columbus and the Order of Moose, both of which Mr Duncan is a member, views the remains in a body and presented flowers. There was a carriage load of the most beautiful flowers presented by relatives and loving friends of the family as a token of love and sympathy.
