She was a Musician.
Esmeralda was reputed to be the first woman to introduce the saxophone to the American stage around 1900. She started her stage career at 9 years of age and was billed as 'La Petite Esmeralda' and made many tours of the vaudeville circuits. She was one of the first musicians to perform when radio station KED was opened in St. Louis. In 1936, she conducted the weekly radio program sponsored byk the Women's Committee of the Symphony Orchestra, writing the script, arranging the music and accompanying the soloists. Esmeralda died from a cerebral hemorrhage.
