Orval C. Minser, 86, of Chillicothe, died 4 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, in Traditions of Chillicothe following an extended illness.

He was born September 24, 1926, in Chillicothe, to the late Guy F. "Dick" and Kathryn Clark Minser.

Surviving are children from his former marriage to the late Marilyn Cadden, Gregory C. Minser, James "Doug" Minser, Stephanie A. (Toby) Cooke and Lisa M. Cuckler, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Daniel C. Minser, Heather (Curtis) Hunt, Tara (Nate) Blanton, George Cooke III, Amanda, Larry Jr., Nathan and Travis Cuckler; great-grandchildren, Keith, Katie and Eli Hunt and Marilyn Blanton; sisters, Barbara Lee and Jane White, both of Chillicothe; a nephew, Mike (Denise) White, of Cincinnati; and four great-nephews, Tyler, Justin, Matt and Blake White.

He was predeceased by a nephew, Christopher Lee.

Orval was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran. He was a member of the Mead Retirees Club, member and past president of the Mead Foreman's Club, American Legion Post # 62 and the Eastenders Club. He retired from the Mead Corporation as a Day Quality Control Supervisor.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Brent Rolsten officiating.

Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at Wares from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
