Pitter "Peter" ZIMMER (called Zimmer, Jr in some of the baptismal records), son of Johan Jacob "Jacob" ZIMMER and Katarina or Catharina BADER. Peter's parents were of German ancestry, hence the name "Pitter" in the baptismal records.

Peter's will dated 04 Jan 1797 and probated 01 Feb 1797 in Schoharie, Schoharie Co., New York, so he died sometime between these dates.

At Ancestry.com: New York, US Wills and Probate Records, 1659-1999" database online, Schoharie County, New York, "Wills, Testaments, Vol A-C, 1795-1829" Pages 37-41, Images 37-39 of 779.

Peter's father, Jacob, was a first generation American born citizen. Jacob's father is believed to have immigrated from Germany using surname ZIMMERMAN (not yet proven // GJOT 6.29.2013). Peter's mother, Katarina or Catharina, was born in Germany.

Peter's family owned the property of Zimmer Hill Cemetery, so Peter and Catharina were probably buried there; the tombstone and exact location now lost in time. Peter's WILL on the first page states "...First Bequith my Soul to God wo give it hoping for the pardon of All Sins thru the merits and mediations of Jesus Christ my Body to the Earth to be Decenly Buried on a Certain Hill on the Farm of Adam Zimmer well known to the family ther to Rest in hops of a Glorious Ressurrection ..."

Peter married Elisabetha FREYMEYER**. They are believed to have had eight known children and adopted one child##. Listed in Peter's will are the following:

Johannis [John]

Peter

Adam

Abram

Katarina

David

Hannah

**Peter states his wife is pregnant in January 1797 when he prepared his will. Perhaps Maria Zimmer is the name of said child. [Still needs proven 17 Apr 2024 GJOT of PA/GA.}

## The couple adopted "Johannes (Joannis) Volkman Becksted Zimmer." [Adopted from BECKSTED.]
