Rites Wednesday For J. L. Harding

James Lewis Harding died at his home at Daylight, Thursday at 5:30 p.m., after an extended illness. He was 88.

Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of High Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. John W. High officiated and burial was in Kirby Cemetery.

A native of DeKalb County, Mr. Harding was born May 1, 1875 and was the son of Dr. C. C. Harding and Narcicus (Spurlock) Harding. He was married January 1, 1924 to the former Tommie Jane Thomas, who survives.

In addition to his widow, seven sons survive. They are Charlie Harding of Detroit; Leo Harding of Old Hickey; Roy Harding of Cleveland; Sheila Harding, Murray Hardin and James Harding all of Daylight; and James Harding of McMinnville. He also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Eva Wilson of Daylight; Mrs. Gladys Gore of Harriman; and Mrs. Pauline Kraft of Detroit. Forty grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren also survive.

High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
