Carroll R. McDaniel, 88, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Ky.

Carroll was born January 31, 1925, in Cadmus, a son of the late Cecil McDaniel and Ercyl Neal McDaniel.

He was retired as a Signal Inspector for the C & O Railroad and was also a Lawrence County Bee Inspector.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Carl, his oldest twin brothers, Neil and Nile, brothers, Rader, Walter, twins Orville and Otis and John.

He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Dufour McDaniel, four children, Alden (Cheryl) McDaniel of Kitts Hill, Jerry (Peggy) McDaniel of Kitts Hill, Larry (Vickie) McDaniel of Coal Grove and Lisa (Scott) Black of Ironton, three step-daughters, Janet (Don) Perkey of Coal Grove, Penny Lewis of Ironton, and Cindy (Tom) Wilson of Coal Grove, a sister, Mary (Carl) Martin of Lesage, WV., 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Coal Grove Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Jeff Canfield officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton.
